Umbrella For Youth Association: a year of commitment and solidarity

The Umbrella For Youth association, which works for socio-economic development and the protection of vulnerable populations in Cameroon, had a year 2023 rich in activities.

• In August 2023 , Umbrella For Youth launched its Confiance Jazz Junior program, which aims to promote culture and art, particularly through learning to use musical instruments. The program allowed young people from a children's center to learn to play a particularly interesting instrument: the guitar .

The program is intended to be fun and continuous. It could, who knows, help to create vocations among these young children who greatly appreciate this brand new activity understood in a simple way by both the teacher and the children.

• In October 2023, Umbrella helped recruit two operating assistants and a consultant for Probio Farm, an organic pig breeding farm. This company, supported by Umbrella, aims to promote self-entrepreneurship and youth employment.

• On May 11, 2023, Umbrella produced a Facebook podcast in which the association team discussed with the public its major objectives and challenges for the current year.

• In September and November 2023, Umbrella launched the Probio Farm pilot project, which aims to promote self-entrepreneurship through the provision of free piglets to young entrepreneurs. This project should ultimately enable several young people to start their own business .

• On December 20, 2023, Umbrella visited the Association for the Assistance of Orphans and Vulnerable People in Evodoula. During this visit, Umbrella brought donations of food and basic necessities.

• In November 2023, Umbrella launched phase 2 of the Probio Farm pilot project. This phase aims to strengthen the capacities of young entrepreneurs who benefit from the project.

• Umbrella also supervised academic interns from ISAGO at the Probio Farm. This experience allowed the trainees to put their knowledge into practice and develop their skills.

• Finally, Umbrella offered end-of-year gifts to the children of the staff working for the association, and supports the young baby of young mother NDOUFGAI Abigael through the Women to Women Program.

The year 2023 was an important year for Umbrella, which continued its commitment to socio-economic development and the protection of vulnerable populations in Cameroon. The association was able to count on the support of its members, its partners and the Cameroonian population.

Umbrella is ambitiously looking ahead to 2024, with numerous projects under development.
